Celebrations at The Beacon
Staff and students alike were celebrating as A Level results were revealed at our school this morning.
GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.
Staff and students alike were celebrating as A Level results were revealed at our school this morning.
Among our high achievers were Louise Cushion, whose A*, A and B grades secured her a place to study Economics at Southampton; Taylor Wallbank who attained AAB and will read Law at Reading; Rachel Zurich with A* for Textiles; and Alyssa Boyce (ABB) who is heading to Winchester to study Social Work.
“I am extremely proud to have shared the achievements of our students today, after all their effort and commitment over the past seven years,” said James Grant Duff, Head of School.
“I am delighted that they have attained excellent results, which will enable them to make the next step in their futures.
“A special thanks must also go to staff and parents, whose work and support have been invaluable during the students’ time at The Beacon School.”

Each of our schools has its own distinct character and culture which is respectful of its community and context but their utmost common ground is that it is our staff that make each school.
