PDCE
PDC Curriculum Intent:
The school values are explicitly woven throughout the school year. There are terms that focus on COMMUNITY, AMBITION, ENDEAVOUR, KINDNESS and INTEGRITY. We believe that the school values are essential for a person to succeed no matter what stage of their live they are in.
At the Beacon School, the PDCE curriculum:
- Is an integral part of the lifelong learning process, beginning in early childhood and continuing into adult life.
- Encourages every student to contribute to their collective community and aim to support each individual as they grow and learn.
- Is set within the wider school context and supports healthy relationships which are based on love, respect and affection, knowledge and openness.
- Encourages our community to respect each other’s views and model to students how to disagree respectfully.
- Generates a safe environment where questions and discussion on important matters can take place without any stigma or embarrassment in order to build a tolerant and respectful community.
